Resin bonded stone compliments gravel driveways

Found this post on the internet about resin bonded and bound surfaces in addititon to loose gravel surfaces which I thought was quite a good idea.

The post says how resin bonded stone compliments gravel driveways:

“Resin-bonded stone is more than just an aesthetically appealing option available from Cheshire paving contractors like Manchester Driveways. It can also work alongside loose gravel to add an important, but subtle, security feature to your property. The benefit of resin-bonded stone is that it gives the appearance of gravel, rather than the flagstones or block paving used in many Cheshire paving projects.

However, it is fixed in place – meaning Manchester driveways constructed out of resin-bound stone will not deposit loose gravel across the pavement or into flowerbeds and neighbours’ drives. By adding a small area of loose gravel close to your property, you can complement the fixed, resin-bound stone with a visually similar patch that is more susceptible to human footfall.

And doing so is one of the suggestions made recently by home insurance provider Halifax, as the lighter evenings of summer often mean an increase in thefts from homes.

Halifax’s guidance says: “Gravel on driveways will help you hear someone approaching,” while we think a small patch of loose gravel along with a resin-bound gravel driveway is a best-of-both-worlds approach, delivering durability and security in equal measure”

Quite a good point with regard to the security from a “noisy” gravel drive.

In addition this post brings together 3 types of surface and the different results  and how resin bonded stone compliments gravel driveways

Resin bonded – adheres to the surface providing anti slip surfacing suitable for vehicles and foot traffic (non porous)

Resin bound – foot traffic suitability  (porous)

Loose gravel – suitable for either but migrates however  can be a security advantage.

Whatever you choose make sure you have the right product for the right purpose just because you see this post does not mean all  resin bonded stone compliments gravel driveways or indeed is the right product for your driveway.

We recently had an enquiry with regards to our resin bonded resurfacing.  However the enquiry was in a heritage conservation area and the dictates for the surfacing were quite specific.  There would be no choice of options for this client.  The planning permission was quite specific that the client had porous paving.  Current requirements dictate with regard to the paving over of front gardens and suds compliance    but when it comes to planning permission for new builds these can come with their own conditions.
