Wet weather resin bonded aggregate installation
Can it be done? Wet weather resin bonded aggregate installation – is it achievable?
The simple answer is NO! Do not believe all that you read.
One of the biggest selling points of resin bonded aggregate also known as resin bonded stone and resin bonded gravel (all suitable for use on a driveway, path or patio) is the fact that is uses an existing surface such as concrete, tarmac and imprinted concrete. This makes it an extremely time saving option. You can have a brand new surface in a day! Not something you can achieve with block paving, imprinted concrete, tarmac, concrete or slabs.
BUT
As with all good things there is a down side and that is the weather! Once the resin is down and you have your resin bonded path or resin bonded patio for example, that is fine. BUT when it is being installed it does need to be a dry surface and the weather needs to be your best friend for a few hours.
There are companies who say their resin product can be applied in all weathers! Well we have been installing anti slip surfacing for over 12 years, and not once have we laid our resin on a wet surface.
Resin will emulsify with water – it will go cloudy and milky and will not cure.
So if you require a good solid and quality installation then call Drive-Cote Ltd. Chesterfield, Mansfield, Sheffield, Derby all within easy reach. Why remove a good solid surface like imprinted concrete, concrete or tarmac, when you can have it resurfaced.
