Gritters provide anti slip surfacing

A  report in the Mansfield Chad this week  says “Residents are being reassured that council gritters ‘geared up to cope with the winter weather as temperatures begin to tumble’

It’s that time of year again – how soon it seems to come round!

The report also goes on to say “Nottinghamshire County Council say they have more salt stockpiled than ever before following the Arctic weather currently affecting  the east coast of the United States and with frosts descending over the county in recent days”.

Part of the anti slip surfacing offered by gritting is very similar to the resin bonded aggregate installations we complete.  Last year we reported on a very slippy imprinted concrete driveway   and prior to the installation they would have been borrowing from the local gritting bin!  Not anymore!

Remember resin bonded stone requires no  maintenance and can offer a safe surface for your and your family.  We have just completed our landscaping and driveway project in Belper.  This project shows how your driveway can be part of your garden.  This client wanted to improve the garden area. The gravelled area shown  is compacted hardcore (already in place)  which was virtually to the standard of concrete! was left in situ at the clients request.

We have laid a weed membrane over the top  and created small planting areas with 20mm green granite installed in the surrounding areas.  The client wanted to minimise cost and disruption and wanted to work with existing  surfaces.  This provides an additional parking area when needed.  The vertical taxus baccata (Yew Tree) was added as an interest with an ornamental  grass and boulder detail.
