resin bound aggregates

Resin bound aggregates can be exactly the same aggregates as used in resin bonded aggregate installations. It is not the materials that are different it is the way the products are installed.

Once of the largest suppliers (and most reputable) in the area being Derbyshire Aggregates.  Their site provides a plethora of information not only for the installer but for the home owner as well.

To enable specifier’s, contractors and stockists a greater choice in the selection of products Derbyshire Aggregates Limited have developed a range of products using aggregates that give bright vibrant colour choices from aggregates selected from quarries throughout the UK and Europe. Over the last 25 years this range has been developed to fit the specification issues that we have been set by our customers. Our range of aggregates provides a varied choice of colours allowing for all kinds of resin bonded and resin bound projects. ”

This week we have been subjected to  snow and whilst anti slip surfacing is  very aggressive against ice it is not a cure all. We did a post on our site with regards to moss and algae which are enemies of concrete and tarmac.  These problem growths can be curtailed with the use of resin bonded aggregates, but be aware because of the porosity of resin bound aggregates that this type of surfacing is not as  effective as the resin bonded aggregates.

Why?  because resin bonded aggregates sit proud of the resin and do not allow the ingress of water – which feeds the algae and moss.

Whether it is a path patio or driveway, if you are based in Mansfield, Ashfield, Bolsover, Nottingham, Ilkeston, West Bridgeford then give us a call and see if we can help you.  Imprinted concrete once resurfaced does not need maintenance ( well a quick jet wash and stiff brush once a year if that is classed as maintenance).
