This is a quality of resin bonded stone installations as opposed to resin bound. Why? Because if water cannot get through (impermeable therefore no water can get through and no seeds can embed) . Resin bound installations by their very nature allow the ingress of water, so if water can get through then so can weeds.
Maintenance
Resin bound installations by their very nature offer the permeability. This means maintenance is required to ensure the permeability is maintained.
Primarily resin bonded installations are designed and installed to resurface and protect existing surfaces. Existing being the key word. Concrete and tarmac have been and still are used as a main structure for driveways, paths and patios. Over periods of time, good installations of concrete tarmac or imprinted concrete can last for years. If you think about what structure is in place for most properties – footings – concrete. Then this proves the durability of a substrate. If it is not broke don’t fix it. Hence the resurfacing.
