resin bound stone driveway anti slip properties Nottingham

February 25th, 2018

Arctic weather conditions are set to move forward this week. So not only does our resin provide anti slip properties it also protects your existing surfaces further.  Please be aware there is a difference between  resin bound stone driveway anti slip properties and resin bonded stone driveway anti slip properties. Potholes are not a problem purely associated with roads.  Tarmac surfaces on your driveway can be affected.

Back in November 2016 we highlighted the issues with slippery driveway path and patio surfaces and with the weather this week forecast to be icy it brings home the need to ensure your driveway path or patio is not a danger to you or your visitors.

In our post we also referred to an imprinted concrete surface we had recovered previously and said

This drive has been laid about 7 years and it sounds as though it is in excellent condition – lovingly sealed and cleaned each year to extend and protect it.  Quite the right thing to do.  BUT  due to the slope on this access this is causing a great deal of difficulty for the owner and indeed his visitors.  Sealing protects but can also lead to reinforcing the slipperiness.   An anti slip path would alleviate the problem without having to have this otherwise perfect imprinted concrete driveway covered up

So consider resin bonded stone for your slippy tarmac, concrete and imprinted concrete surfaces.  Mansfield, Ashfield, Sutton in Ashfield, Ambergate, Hilcote, Alfreton, Westhouses, Tibshelf.

Remember our resin bonded stone resurfaces existing surfaces so no mess no disruption, completed in a day.  No additives required to provide an anti slip surface as opposed to the result from a resin bound stone driveway anti slip properties.

Resin bonded stone is sometimes called scatter coat resin bonded stone – the angular non coated aggregate provides excellent adhesion and anti slip properties.  Resin bound stone provides a shiny surface as it has a covering for the stone.  This can be “anti slipped” so to speak but we believe is not as effective as the Drive-Cote Ltd resin bonded scatter coat system. Scatter coat sometimes is indicated as not as good as resin bound (trowelled on) but they are completely different applications and provide a difference quality to your driveway, path or patio.

The angular shaped stone sits proud of the resin thus providing more aggressive anti slip surfacing.  Don’t forget a resin seal (both for blockpaved and resin bound) will wear on your driveway through tyre use.  So maintenance will be required in both these installations.

Remember the right product for the right purpose so consider the difference between resin bonded and resin bound stone driveway anti slip properties We would not advocate a resin bonded surface for a playground area as one shoe does not fit all.
